Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on technique that focuses on the craniosacral system—the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. It’s based on the idea that subtle movements and rhythms in this system influence the health and function of the entire body.
Craniosacral is often combined with Reiki, energy work, or subtle bodywork to create a profoundly calming and restorative session. Want a breakdown of how CST compares to Reiki or massage, or how you might integrate it into your practice?
Key Features
Feather-Light Touch: Practitioners use about 5 grams of pressure (roughly the weight of a nickel) to assess and release restrictions.
Focus Areas: Work often centers on the skull (cranium), spine, and sacrum (tailbone), but sessions may include other parts of the body as needed.
Subtle Techniques: The practitioner “listens” to the body’s internal rhythms and gently encourages balance and release—often without the client feeling obvious movement.
Fully Clothed: Clients remain fully dressed and lie quietly, usually on a massage table.
